Abstract

The history of studying the vertical drains in relation to different types of soil is considered in the article. Calculation procedures are given to determine the efficiency of drains and the step of their installations taking into account water penetration, consolidation zones, silting effects and hydraulic resistance of a drain. Development of the theory of filtration consolidation is considered.
