Abstract

The paper discusses the calculation of the feasibility study for the specialty 10.05.03 "Information Security of Automated Systems"; it describes the problems arising from various options for calculating the effectiveness. The traditional approach to carry out the economic part (feasibility verification of study) implies calculation of spent resources, including the calculation of the wages fund, material expenses without reusable scraps, depreciation charges and indirect expenses, estimated charges and cost accounting for production and products; and feasibility calculations. The technique of TCO (total cost of ownership) is considered, that allows for estimating and comparing the safety state of a company with the typical protection profile and showing the bottle necks in organization of protection to pay attention to. This technique is based on application of results of the enterprise activities (financial and economic ones) and does not present the practical interest for performing the chapter of the final qualifying work, since no enterprise will give students the analysis of process effectiveness. The paper proposes to consider the methods for estimating the proposed solution by assessing the project and a simplified version of preparing the technical assignment for making tenders on acquiring the equipment. The proposed method allows to carry out the calculation of efficiency based on the characteristics of the installed equipment or software.
