Abstract

The technique of solving the problem of singular points arising in the simulation of plastic forming by finite element method is offered. This technique is based on the formation of neighborhood of tool contact surface. When getting into this area, the node behaves as belonging to the tool contact surface that is acceptable because of initial mistakes of its construction by CAD tools. This approach reduces the number of simulated stages of deformation and cuts down the simulation time.
