Andrey Kuznetsov was born on 4 March 1963 in Izhevsk. He finished Izhevsk Industrial College in 1982 and graduated from Izhevsk Mechanical Institute (specialty: "Labor organization and rating") in 1987. Prof. Kuznetsov got his CSc degree from Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics in 1991 and defended DSc thesis entitled: "Strategy of social development of company staff in transformation economy” in 2000.

From 1991 till 2004 he worked his way from a senior lecturer and Faculty Dean up to the Vice-Rector for Strategic Development of Izhevsk State Technical University. In 2003 Andrey Kuznetsov was elected a deputy of the State Council of the Udmurt Republic, from 2004 till 2014 he was the Minster of Education and Science of the Udmurt Republic, in 2014–2016 – Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Udmurt Republic.

From 2016 till now – Professor of the Department of Economics and Company Management of Kalashnikov ISTU and senior research fellow of Udmurt Branch of Institute of Economics of Russian Academy of Sciences.

The main areas of Prof. Kuznetsov’s scientific school at Kalashnikov ISTU comprise the investigation of the company development strategy, management of staff social development, business social responsibility, anti-crisis management, labor motivation and economic sociology.

The scientific school development results are reflected in over 108 published works, comprising 10 monographs and 3 study aids included in RSCI. He is the author of the textbook for students in economics recommended by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation since 2004, has 4 publications included in Web of Science and Scopus.

Prof. Kuznetsov is the supervisor of the study area "Management" of undergraduate and postgraduate students, a member of 1 dissertation board.
