EPITETATION OF ANGER IN THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE AND M. TSVETAEVA'S IDIOLECT

Abstract

The article describes the main directions of epithetation of anger in the Russian language and in M. Tsvetaeva's idiolect. It is noted that emotional concepts are subjected to detailed conceptualization in language due to their importance to humans. It is proved that attribution and epithetation of emotion are associated with the actualization of its external manifestation, the impact on others, the characterization of the essence of a person manifested in a specific situation. The attributive verbalization of anger as one of the basic emotions is described. It can be seen that anger is perceived by native speakers of Russian as an active aggressive emotion, but ambivalent: righteous anger is opposed to rage and anger, and the need for explication of anger is realized. It is revealed that the metaphorical epithetation of anger is associated with intensifiers expressing the depth of experience, emotional evaluation, uncontrollability, and the inevitability of emotion, which is verbalized in metaphors of fire and substance. It has been established that in the M. Tsvetaeva's idiolect anger is understood inseparably from a person, which is expressed in a bidirectional epithet: on the one hand, the epithetation of anger is associated with the fixation of its external manifestation, on the other hand, inanimate objects are given the attribute anger as representatives of the unbridled elements, including abstractions. Metaphorical epithetation of anger are represented by such models as “anger is fire” and “anger is an object”; special attention is paid to the facial description of anger. The conclusion is drawn that the epithetation of anger, as well as the attribute anger in the Russian language and in the M. Tsvetaeva's idiolect emotions have common features, since this emotion is basic for humans, but within the framework of the author's conceptual sphere, the anthropomorphic perception of anger and its manifestations is relevant.
